John F Kennedy Public School, Faridabad is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school was established in 1994 with an aim to nurture multifaceted personality in children through modern and sophisticated educational aids and the best amenities that unravel the full potential of the students. The school follows the motto "In Search of Excellence".
The school campus hosts a spacious and well ventilated science laboratory with a capacity of 50 students, a computer lab, a well ventilated library with a vast collection of books, journals, periodicals and newspapers, an activity room, fully air-conditioned audio visual room, art and craft room, music room and a sports room with facilities for chess and carom.
In the kindergarten section, children are given a wide range of activities and worksheets. Assessments are based on their participation in class activities and behavior. Children are also encouraged to think logically, while instilling in them values and awareness about the environment. In the kindergarten section, students do not have examinations and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern of assessment is followed. Student’s progress in oral and written class work and projects are also assessed and recorded.
For classes I to V, the curriculum is designed to enable students to achieve their best and emphasis is laid on development of linguistic, mathematical and experimental skills. Children are engaged in computers, arts and craft, music and dance, outdoor activities, intellectual interaction, yoga and games. Student’s progress in oral and written class work, homework, oral tests, quizzes, assignments, class conversation, discussions and projects are assessed and recorded under CCE.
For classes VI to X, the school aims at the all round development of a child’s personality through academic and co-curricular activities by developing their linguistic skills, knowledge of mathematics, sciences and computers. Knowledge of these subjects is correlated with practical life for application of this knowledge in daily life. Students are assessed through the CCE pattern with four formative assessments and two summative assessments in one academic session. The CCE scheme covers scholastic and co-scholastic areas.
In classes XI and XII, the school offers commerce stream with subjects such as business studies, accounts, economics, English, math/physical education. The students of class XI have two unit tests, half yearly and the final exam. For class XII, there are three unit tests, half yearly and a pre-board examination.
