Students from India who enrol in the new dual programme must finish their degrees in both Australia and India. The first two years of their programme will be spent in India, while the latter two years will be spent at the Melbourne campus.
Indian students will be able to obtain a new Bachelor of Science Dual Degree from the University of Melbourne. The University of Madras, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management will collaborate to offer the dual degree (Hyderabad).

After successfully completing the programme, they will get a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, with the option to have their local university grant them the diploma as well. Duncan Maskell, the University of Melbourne’s vice chancellor, made the news today in Mumbai.
According to the official statement, “Indian students can study up to six master’s subjects in their final year to fast-track a master’s degree from a range of fields including science, engineering, public health, and data science.
The official announcement stated that “discussions are already underway with additional universities hoping to offer the dual degree starting in 2024.” The University of Madras, SPPU, and GITAM were the program’s initial partners.
Formerly, seven universities in India received a Bachelor of Science (Blended) programme from the University of Melbourne. The course, which was introduced in 2016, has been or will be offered at the following institutions: SPPU Savitribai Phule Pune University (since 2018), Modern College Ganeshkhind (affiliated to SPPU) (since 2019), Modern College Shivajinagar (affiliated to SPPU) (since 2016), PVKN Govt College Chittoor (affiliated to SV University) (since 2021), GITAM University in Hyderabad (since 2019), Bharathiar University (will (since 2022).
