After receiving much flak for poorly translated KPSC Gazetted Probationers’ examinations, the Karnataka government has been forced to reconduct the exams again.
Aspirants were irked after the question paper of the exam was full of inappropriate Kannada translations making it challenging for them to attempt it.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah said in an official statement that the government will reconduct exams within two months to ensure fairness for all candidates and assured that those responsible for the same have been punished.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Siddaramaiah said, “In the light of reports of inappropriate Kannada translation of questions in the KPSC Gazetted Probationers’ examination, I have directed KPSC to reconduct of the examination within 2 months to ensure fairness to all candidates Those responsible for these lapses have been relieved of their duties. The upcoming examination will be conducted with the utmost responsibility and accountability following all due diligence. We remain committed to upholding the integrity of our recruitment processes.”
Meanwhile, the association which has been fighting for the same heaved a sigh of relief.
Karnataka State Competitive Examination Aspirants Association (KSCEAA) took to X to thank CM Siddaramaiah. “Thank you @CMofKarnataka for considering the demands of re-exam of KAS prelims exam,” they said.
