Karnataka: SSLC 2022 results announced. Rural students outshine urban ones

As many as 85.63 % of students who appeared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate Exams (SSLC)- the state board’s class 10 examinations in Karnataka have cleared the exams.

The results of these exams were announced by the minister for primary and secondary education, BC Nagesh in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Last year, the state government announced that in the view of the pandemic, all students will be declared as pass, resulting in a 99.9% result (one student failed in the examinations for malpractice). In 2019-20, the pass percentage stood at 72.42%.

The number of girls who have cleared the exams is higher at a 92.4 % as compared to 86.34 % boys among the fresher students. Among the schools, private unaided schools reported the highest pass percentage at 89.36% while government and aided stood at 88 % and 87.8% respectively.

Against a total score of 625, as many as 145 students scored a perfect 625 this year while 309 secured 624 marks. 472 students secured 623.

This year, students in rural Karnataka have outperformed students in urban areas. The pass percentage is higher at 91.32 % in rural areas as against a 86.64 % in urban areas of the state.

This year, post exams, 60,295 evaluators were on duty to correct the SSLC papers who worked in 234 evaluation centers in 34 educational districts across the state. 

Zero % result

As many as 20 schools have procured a 0 % result this year. The highest being from private unaided schools where 15 such schools have no student passing the exam. Two government and three aided schools have delivered similar results.
