Kasiga School, Dehradun is a coeducational English medium residential school founded on July 7, 2007. It is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UK. Kasiga School, Dehradun follows the CBSE and Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and AS/A Level curricula. The school academic year is divided into three sessions; the first session runs from April 1 to May 31, the second session from July 15 to December 15 and the last session from February 1 to March 31.
Under the CBSE board, two examinations are conducted – first at the end of class X and another at the end of class XII. CIE conducts the IGCSE examination at the end of class X and AS/A level examinations at the end of classes XI and/or class XII.
The school maintains a student faculty ratio of 6:1. A group of eight to ten students is assigned to every teacher.
The admission procedure is as follows:
Registration – Registration is open for classes III to IX and class XI. The non-refundable registration fee is Rs 10,000. Registration does not assure admission. Each year in January, registered children need to write an assessment test.
Assessment – The general written assessment test covers English, Mathematics, Science and Hindi subjects. If the child is in class VI, then the questions for assessment are based on the syllabus of class V. Parents can also obtain information on the assessment syllabus from the school website.
Meeting with principal – The appointment letter is issued to selected candidates after discussion between parents and the school principal.
The annual boarding school fee for new students in classes III to VIII is INR 2,90,000 and tuition fee is INR 85,000; for classes IX & X, the boarding fee is INR 2,95,000 and tuition fee is INR 90,000 and for classes X & XII, the boarding fee is INR 3,00,000 and tuition fee is INR 90,000.
For IGCSE class IX and X students, the annual boarding fee is INR 2,95,000 and tuition fee is INR 1,00,000.
For AS/A Level, the annual boarding fee is INR 3,00,000 and the tuition fee is INR 1,00,000.
For international students, the boarding fee for classes III to XII is US $ 7800 and tuition fee is US $ 2,000.
Kasiga School has been ranked among India’s top boarding schools by the EducationWorld C-fore Survey 2013.
The school campus hosts an aesthetically designed hostel with rooms that can accommodate six to eight students each. The rooms are spacious and have an attached balcony. An experienced House Master takes care of the students in each boarding house. Two tutors are also assigned for each boarding house.
The spacious dining hall serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The meals are planned under the direction of dietary consultants.
