Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Puranattukara, Trichur is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Started in 1985, the school is managed by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Ernakulam Region), an autonomous body under the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India.
The school like all KVs primarily caters to the educational needs of the children of central government employees, defense personnel, employees of the state and floating population.
Measuring 10.34 acres, the school campus hosts a well stocked library with a collection of 13,302 books and subscription to 28 magazines, three air conditioned computer labs for primary, middle and senior sections, a resource room, labs for chemistry, physics and biology and a junior science lab. The school also houses a LCD room, music room, a roofed assembly area, science park, an ayurvedic aushadi garden and a compost facility.
The sports facilities include badminton court, cricket field, athletics track, high jump pit, volley ball court, handball court and a children’s park.
Affiliated with CBSE, the school offers education from class I through XII. The school’s teaching methodology exclusively uses technology tools to enhance classroom learning and improve learning retention among students. Besides academics, the school offers various co-curricular and sports activities.
