Davendra Singh Dhillon, a student from Patiala is among the nine spies for Pakistan whose arrests were made public on Monday.
Indian authorities have arrested Dhillion, a 25-year-old political science student from Khalsa College in Patiala. He was arrested on May 12 in Kaithal, Haryana, for posting images of a pistol and firearms on Facebook.
During his interrogation, it was revealed that he had traveled to Pakistan last November, where he allegedly shared sensitive details, including photographs of the Patiala military cantonment, with officers from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.
The nine arrests were made after intelligence reports confirmed that they actively spied for Pakistan’s ISI and that they visited the country several times on various pretexts.
Among the others are Travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, who owns a YouTube channel called ‘Travel with JO’ and hails from Hisar, Haryana. She was arrested for sharing sensitive military information with Pakistan.
Nauman Ilahi, a 24-year-old security guard from Haryana, was arrested a few days earlier in Panipat. Reports indicate that he had been in contact with an ISI handler in Pakistan. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Ilahi allegedly received payments through his brother-in-law’s account for providing information to Islamabad, according to the police.
Arman, 23 another resident of Haryana was arrested in Nuh, Haryana, on May 16 following intelligence reports. Police said he was sharing sensitive information with Pakistan amid rising tensions between the two countries.
Tarif, the second suspect arrested from Nuh was detained two days after Arman in Kangarka village. Police said he attempted to delete chats and data from Pakistani WhatsApp numbers on his phone when they approached him.
The others also included Shahzad, a businessman from Rampur, was arrested in Moradabad for sharing national security info with his handlers. He had traveled to Pakistan and was involved in smuggling goods while Mohammad Murtaza Ali was arrested in Jalandhar for spying for Pakistan’s ISI using a self-made app. Police seized four phones and three SIM cards.
