KIIT International School, Bhubaneswar is a coeducational private international day-cum-boarding school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), UK and the International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva. It offers kindergarten, primary and secondary education in the national and international curricula.

Established in 2004, the school is also a part of the KIIT group of institutions which include a university with multiple faculties. The school is located in eastern India, in the state of Orissa, with students from all over India and abroad.

Campus

Kiit International School is located in the pollution-free, congestion-less planned city of Bhuvaneshwar. The eco-friendly green campus, wi-fi air-conditioned classrooms and residences offer an environment that facilitates a pleasant atmosphere to study and learn. Other facilities include multi-gym, science park, amusement park, amphitheatre and multi-purpose activity hall.

Sports facilities include temperature regulated swimming pool, indoor & outdoor stadiums.

Academics

KIIT International School, Bhubaneswar offers International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGSCE) and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as the international curricula and CBSE as the national curriculum.

There is also a scope for the ‘informal’ curriculum which offers students opportunities for discussion, debates, speech training, drama, quizzes, science projects, creative art and similar activities that form part of a holistic education plan.

IGCSE: The international curriculum model caters to the needs of students from Class VIII to Class XII. IGCSE curriculum sets clear goals for learners in the form of external examinations held every May/June and for teachers in the form of professional development opportunities within India and abroad.

IB: Some parents and students wish to join the international curriculum in Class X . The IBDP foundation programme is a unique curriculum that prepares the students to join the IB diploma programme in Class XI and XII. This includes the research and writing skills needed in English-language based courses, the review of foreign-language courses, the writing of lab reports in the sciences, and the refinement of performance skills in the arts. The programme gives students the background needed to begin the IBDP with confidence and enthusiasm.

Extracurricular: The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities for students to develop a variety of interests not covered in the regular curriculum. These include horse riding, billiards, aerobics, yoga, and painting. Cultural activities like dance and music are encouraged, helping the children to bond together in a spirit of harmony and celebration and mould them into truly global citizen.

General Information

Admission

The admission process is different for the national and international curriculum. For admission into the CBSE curriculum, the process starts with submitting the application form after which the student has to undergo a personal interview as well as a written test and viva.

For the international curriculum admission procedure may be an “In-Person” or “Distance” application. “In-Person” means the application will be done at KiiT International School, face-to-face. “Distance” means that the application process will take place via email, telephone calls or Skype.

The process involves the submitting of the completed admission forms, interview with the students and parents. Once the admission has been granted the required fee needs to be submitted within 14 working days

Accommodation

The residential facilities offer spacious, furnished and secure rooms for students: 2 in a room for seniors (class VI and above) and 4 in a room for juniors (class V and below). There are attendants for juniors to assist them for all their academic and co-curricular requirements, including meal time, bed time, break time, recreation time and play time. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided to all students and staff, and boarders get an additional evening meal.
