Lancers International School (LIS) is a co-educational day/boarding school with classes from nursery to class XII. The school was founded by a group of professionals with experience of about 32 years in the field of education and is in its fourth year of operation. The first batch of students will be taking the IB Diploma examination in June, 2013.

The school’s campus is spread over an area of 5.4 acres in the centre of New Gurgaon, an up and coming city near the capital of India, New Delhi. It is fully equipped with science and computer laboratories, IT enabled classrooms, art, music, drama and sports facilities. The school offers programmes covering international curricula in an integrated learning environment.

Campus

Lancers International School offers state-of-the-art infrastructure for the students to experience the true joy of learning. The children are engaged in various activities, learning, fun and interaction with other students, their teachers and other staff. The school library is well stocked with both print and digital books and other academic resources.

The school canteen serves both Continental and Indian food to the students. The kids are served 5 meals a day and the menu changes on a weekly basis. The school maintains air conditioned buses in compliance with the highest safety and security norms.

The health care centre is focused on providing holistic nursing and medical care to children and adolescents so that they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life.

Academics

Lancers International School offers programmes covering international curricula and is affiliated to the IBO, Geneva and the CIE. In the primary school, the curriculum is child centered and teaching strategies focus on students understanding and comprehending their learning. The school is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme.

The middle school follows the Cambridge International Examinations syllabi with IGCSE at the end of grade X.

Students stepping into class XI begin the two year IBDP Programme. This is a rigorous course of study that fully prepares students for university and life. Students choose their course of study from an array of 17 subjects depending on their interest and requirements for higher studies.

Extracurricular:

Physical education is part of the school curriculum and all students are introduced to a variety of sports and games. Day boarding students get ample opportunities to participate in sports and other co-curricular activities. Social work and community service is also encouraged among the students.

The school also offers coaching in a variety of sports and games. Overnight trips to experience outdoor activities are arranged periodically. Students have opportunities to pursue short courses in music, dance, drama and art. Various events allow students to develop their organization and leadership skills.

General Information

Admission

LIS is open to all students who are looking for quality education in an international environment. The candidates, from class II onwards, go through an aptitude test. Admission will be offered on meeting the criteria set by the admission committee.

Parents can visit the school for registration or can apply online. The duly filled registration form has to be submitted to the admissions office. Admission is offered on meeting the admission criteria.Admission offer letter along with the invoice and admission form will be issued by the admissions office. On receiving the payment as per the fee invoice and the relevant documents, the admission process will deemed to have completed.

Fee may be paid in cheque/draft in favor of Lancers International School. Debit /credit cards are also accepted.

Fees:

Fee for resident Indians includes a onetime payment of Rs.1, 85,000 at the time of admission, annual charges of Rs 50,000 – Rs 66,000 and the quarterly tuition fee of Rs.25, 000-1, 14,000.

Accommodation

Lancers International School boarding facility consists of two blocks, one for girls and one for boys. The students are housed in comfortable, large, airy dorms with a choice of either 2 beds or 6 beds in a room; each room has its own bathroom.

Each block has a pleasant lounge for the students to interact, watch TV and relax. The experienced dorm parents strive to create a home like atmosphere for the students, helping them to adjust, counseling them and supervising their work. A resident tutor is available to help students with any academic difficulties.
