Maa Anandmayee Memorial School, Dehradun is an English-medium co-ed day cum residential school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. It offers educational, extra-curricular and sports facilities for students from playgroup to class XII.
Maa Anandmayee Memorial School was founded in 1985 in the memory of the Divine Mother by a devotee of Maa, Mr. Ram Panjwani, who created a trust under the able guidance of Shri. B. K. Shah (Founder of New India Assurance Co. Ltd.) who was another revered devotee of Maa.
The school aims to be an institution of excellence dedicated to producing leaders of the future by facilitating contemporary and holistic education, and endeavours to provide an all-round sound foundation for broad-based education to the children in an atmosphere free from inhibitions and prejudices in order to promote their overall development, and make them conscientious and responsible citizens.
The 20-acre MAMS campus houses a library hosting a large spectrum of books to cater to the students’ academic needs. The school has a state of the art computer center which is equipped with 15 desktops in the senior wing and 10 desktops in the junior wing. The computer labs are well equipped with sufficient number of computers to the ratio of 2:1. The computers offer networking and are fitted with latest processors that are updated from time to time. The campus also houses science laboratories: the biology laboratory is fully equipped with about 25 charts, 75 specimens, 50 slides, a herbarium of various species and scores of models and mounts catering to both middle and senior school; the chemistry laboratory can accommodate 30 students in the laboratory at one time, and is equipped with a demonstration table, modern shelves to store reagent bottles, sinks and charts; and the physics laboratory, which can cater to about 30 students at one time, is fitted with latest equipment, charts and working as well as dead models. The school ensures that each student is able to work with one apparatus.
The school also houses a wide range of sports and extra-curricular facilities such as music and dance rooms. The campus is equipped with facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, basketball, tennis, table-tennis, athletics, chess, carrom, kabaddi, kho – kho, etc.
The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. English is the medium of instruction throughout the School. Hindi holds a place of very high importance in the curriculum, and every effort is made to ensure that each student reaches a high standard in the language. A third language (Sanskrit) is taught in the Middle School.
A textbook based curriculum is followed in the school, aligned to the educators’ learning objectives. The curriculum resonates with the education philosophy adopted by the school. Dynamic learning experiences are delivered by using different teaching methods which include project-based learning, community-based learning, experiential learning, and authentic learning, among others. A holistic and all-round development approach can be seen in the curriculum adopted by the school. Hence the children are also exposed to different academic based programmes.
The XSEED Academic Program builds thinking and problem-solving skills in children and equips students with 21st century skills (particularly communication, creativity, critical thinking and collaboration) that are key to their empowerment. The teachers are equipped with time bound lesson plans that cater to the 5 A’s – Aim, Action, Analysis, Application and Assessment. This has initiated a paradigm shift in the teaching- learning process at MAMS where there is no scope for rote learning.

Any requests for other preferential treatment are not entertained. Only in very rare and exceptional cases, the School Management reserves the right to exercise its discretion in the matter of admissions. The student is also required to pass a medical fitness test.
