Mahadevi Birla World Academy, Kolkata is an all girls day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Established by the late GD Birla in 1959 in the name of his wife, late Mahadevi Birla, the school aims to provide holistic multidimensional education with a balance of curricular and co-curricular activities for the all-round development of a child.
The school focuses on instilling a sense of confidence, discipline and inspiring children to develop a distinctive personality, rather than being merely study-centric.
The 3.78 acre campus hosts separate buildings for the junior section, middle section, senior section and the senior secondary section. All classes are equipped with smart boards. The campus facilities include a well-stocked library, well-equipped labs for computer, science and math, language room, conference halls, dance rooms, music rooms, art and craft rooms, medical infirmary, an indoor games room, playground with an area of 2428 square metres, and a swimming pool. Affiliated with CBSE, the school offers education to girls from Kindergarten through class XII. The school follows an integrated curriculum with academic subjects, life skills, general knowledge, communication, art, craft and dance. The school promotes clubs such as the maths club, heritage club, debate/extempore/elocution club, creative writing club, information and communication technology club, science club, quiz club, disaster management club, vernacular literary club and theatre club.
Coaching is provided for sport such as basketball, swimming, skating, gymnastics, volleyball, athletics, chess, badminton, tennis, carrom and karate.

The minimum age for admission to Lower Kindergarten is 4 plus years as on April 1 of the year in which admission is sought. The selection process includes interaction of candidate and parents with the principal. There are 180 seats for admission to Kindergarten.
Parents can download the registration/application form from the school website, fill in the required details and submit the same online within the stipulated date. At the time of form submission, an auto-generated Bank Deposit Slip will be generated in triplicate for depositing the form fee of Rs 800/- at United Bank of India, Darga Road Branch, 15, Darga Road, Kolkata 700 017, during banking hours on dates stipulated. Parents are requested to take a print of the form along with an auto-generated Bank Depost Slip on A4 size paper only.
