The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education announced the Class 10 (SSC) results on Monday, with a pass percentage of 95.81. Latur division stood out with the highest number of students achieving perfect scores, including twins.
Continuing the trend, girls outperformed boys, with an overall pass percentage of 97.21 compared to 94.56% for boys. Among the state’s eight divisions, Kokan ranked highest with a pass rate of 99.01%, while Nagpur had the lowest at 94.73%, according to board chairperson Sharad Gosavi.
Out of the 15,60,154 students who registered for the SSC exam held in March-April, 15,49,326 appeared for the papers, with 14,84,441 passing. Notably, 18 subjects achieved a 100% pass rate statewide.
In total, 183 students scored perfect marks, with 123 from the Latur division, renowned for its academic excellence, notably employing the “Latur pattern.”
Among them are twin brothers Sarthak and Swapnil Saudagar Chavan, who earned extra marks for their achievements in chess and music competitions, respectively. Both aspire to join the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
In Nagpur, Suhani Yelne, daughter of a watchman, secured 97.8% and aims to pursue Computer Science at IIT. Similarly, Sameer Belekar, son of a courier delivery man, scored 94.2% and dreams of becoming an IAS officer after engineering from an IIT.
