Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (or MGIT) was founded in 1997 in Gandipet, Hyderabad. It was promoted by the Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society (CBES), Hyderabad and affiliated with the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH). The college is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and is ISO 9001:2000 certified. A self-financed institution, MGIT is a premier institution that offers 8 Undergraduate Programs and 4 Post Graduate programs in various streams of Engineering. MGIT started off with three branches and 180 students, but it now boasts 2020 students enrolled in its various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Says a college spokesperson, “The primary objective of the institution is to impart value-based education to the present and future generations of our country.
