Overview

Mira Model School, Janakpuri is an independent co-educational senior secondary school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school’s mission is to prepare its students to be “healthy, responsible and informed adults who will play an active role in improving the world they will inherit”. It offers education from class I to class XII.

The school has won several awards for integrating technology in education, focuses on delivering contemporary education through the use of latest pedagogies and technology. Mira Model School is also a recipient of the International School Award of the British Council in 2007.

Campus

The school is located in Janakpuri in Delhi and is spread over 12 acres of land with an administrative block, teaching area, library area, labs, hostel facility and playgrounds. The buildings have been designed with provisions for fire-fighting, rain water harvesting, sewerage and waste water treatment, etc.

Sports facilities include an artificial rock climbing wall, and facilities for basketball, cricket, volleyball, badminton, taekwondo and karate.

There are independent hostels for boys and girls with provision for three students in each room. The students are provided with independent study tables.

Academics

Mira Model School is affiliated to the CBSE. The curriculum is constantly upgraded and academic excellence given priority. Counselors and teachers work with parents and students to help them realize their potential. Students from classes IX, X and XI are given special counseling.

In classes XI and XII, various combinations in pure sciences, commerce and humanities are available.

Extracurricular:

The school encourages participation of students in the arts, debates and elocution. Training in sports like basketball, cricket, rock climbing, volleyball, badminton, taekwondo and karate is offered.

Fitness and all round development are given importance. Students can join NCC , Scouts and Guides. Regular treks and camps are organized during vacations.
