Modern English Academy, Barrackpore is a coeducational day school offering classes from class V to class XII and is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. The school was founded to fulfill the need of a secondary school for the children who completed their primary education in Modern School, Barrackpore. The school was founded in April 1998 by the Barrackpore Park Road Christian Education Society.

The entry level is at class V. Students who pass out of class IV from Modern School are automatically accepted in class V. Admission to students from other schools is strictly on the basis of merit and availability of seats.
