Overview

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is a private deemed university promoted in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal with the help of a donation from Narsee Monjee Educational Trust. NMIMS has been awarded five star rating and A Grade by the NAAC and UGC respectively. Recognizing its significant contribution to academia and industry, NMIMS was granted the Deemed-to-be-University status, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2003. It has campuses in Mumbai, Shirpur, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

NMIMS has been consistently recognized as one of the top 10 business schools in India.

Placements:

The NMIMS Mumbai houses efficient training and placement cells, and the university’s placement mobileular companions with enterprise leaders ensure that the students have multidisciplinary technical tasks, enabling them to learn hands-on realistic skills. NMIMS Mumbai placement cell assists college students to build their personalities and skills by organising membership conferences and commercial interactions.

The NMIMS Mumbai placement cell provides its last semester students an additional six-month duration to expand their interpersonal skills and to work first-hand within the industry. Summer internship opportunities are also provided to students.

Recent NMIMS Placements Stats:

166 companies participated in the 2019 NMIMS recruitment drive. The CTC stood at INR 30.37 LPA, the average CTC offered being INR 17.79 LPA. The top recruiters in the 2019 NMIMS recruitment drive were TATA Consumer Products, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, Axis, ICICI Bank, Birla Sun Life Insurance, Cognizant Business Consulting, DHL express, Accenture and Vodafone. 

NMIMS has begun the 2020-21 placement drive, with the highest recorded CTC yet being at INR 38 LPA.

Admission

Undergraduate admissions- B.B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. (Hons.), B.A. (Hons.), B.Des.:

Selection Criteria: performance in the computer-based online entrance exam NMIMS-NPAT conducted by NMIMS, Mumbai. Candidates have to attempt 120 questions with a total of 100 marks in two hours. The entrance exam is in a multiple-choice questions format.

Eligibility: 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%-75% (depending on the course), with English as a compulsory subject.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for the NMIMS-NPAT exam through the official NMIMS website; candidate must enter all relevant information along with required verified documents, followed by the payment of the application fees. Candidates can then download the admit card from the NMIMS official website.
  • The national-level NMIMS NPAT exam is conducted in multiple centers in 49 cities annually. Candidates may specify their exam centre preference during registration.
  • NMIMS NPAT results – three merit lists – are announced in July. Qualifying candidate are called for the three-round counselling process. Paying the admission fee secures their admission.

Undergraduate admissions- B.Tech.:

Selection Criteria: performance in NMIMS-CET entrance test.

Eligibility: 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%, with PCM as compulsory subjects.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for the NMIMS-CET entrance, with the submission of required documents and payment of the application fees.
  • Candidates are to sit for the NMIMS-CET entrance conducted across 46 cities annually. The exam date and centre once selected cannot be changed
  • Candidates who clear the entrance are then called for the counselling session, where they are required to fill their choice of publications according to their ranks. This is followed by the payment of the fees and verification of documents, securing the candidate’s admission

Undergraduate admissions- B.A.-LL.B and B.B.A.-LL.B:

Selection Criteria: performance in CLAT/LSAT/NMIMS LAT tests.

Eligibility: 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for admission by filling out the application form along with the submission of verified documents and the payment of the application fees.
  • Admission to the B.A.-LL.B and B.B.A.-LL.B programmes will be subject to the candidate’s performance in the NMIMS LAT entrance. CLAT and LSAT scores/ranks are also accepted.

Undergraduate admissions- B.Arch.:

Selection Criteria: performance in the NATA exam.

Eligibility: 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for admission by filling out the application form along with the submission of verified documents and the payment of the application fees.
  • Admission to the B.Arch. program will be subject to the candidate’s rank/score in NATA. They are also required to appear for an private interview round.
  • Students qualifying in the advantage listing may pay the fees followed by the verification of the required documents to confirm admission.

Postgraduate admissions- M.Tech./M.C.A.:

Selection Criteria: Written test and interview conducted by NMIMS

Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech./B.C.A. in the relevant discipline from a recognised institution.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for admission by filling out the application form along with the submission of verified documents and the payment of the application fees.
  • Candidates are required to appear for the written test followed by the interview (both carrying 50 marks each).
  • Marks secured in the test-interview process will determine the candidate’s qualification to the programme. Qualifying candidates may proceed with the payment of the fees followed by document-verification to confirm admission.

Postgraduate admissions- M.Arch., M.Sc., M.Pharm. and LL.M.:

Selection Criteria: performance in the NMIMS-CET exam score and performance in the specific university-based entrance test and interview.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in the related field with a minimum of 50-55% aggregate. Some programmes require work experience (internships) in the related discipline.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for admission by filling out the application form along with the submission of verified documents and the payment of the application fees.
  • Candidates must appear for the entrances exams to qualify for admission (NMIMS-CET and university-entrance test for M.Pharm. and M.P.T., written test and interview for M.Sc. and LL.M. and merit-based for M.Arch.)
  • Marks secured in the entrance tests and interviews will determine the candidate’s qualification to the programme. Qualifying candidates may proceed with the payment of the fees followed by document-verification to confirm admission.

Postgraduate admissions- M.B.A./P.G.D.M./E.M.B.A.:

Selection Criteria: NMAT/GMAT scores. Students may also have to appear for an interview

Eligibility: Bachelors degree in the related field. M.B.A. and E.M.B.A. programmes also require a minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in the related fields.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for admission by filling out the application form along with the submission of verified documents and the payment of the application fees.
  • Candidates are required to appear for the NMAT entrance; this may be followed by an interview round. GMAT scores are also accepted.
  • Marks secured in NMAT and GMAT will determine the candidate’s qualification to the programme. Qualifying candidates may proceed with the payment of the fees followed by document-verification to confirm admission.

Research admissions- Ph.D.:

Selection Criteria: performance in university-based test comprising the aptitude test, specific domain test and the statement of purpose. CSIR NET/GATE/GPAT/SET scores are also accepted.

Eligibility: Master’s degree in the related field with a minimum of 50-55% aggregate. Some programmes require work experience in the related discipline.

Admission Process:

  • Candidates must register for admission by filling out the application form along with the submission of verified documents and the payment of the application fees.
  • Candidates are required to appear for the university based entrance test. CSIR NET/GATE/GPAT/SET scores are also accepted.

Achievement

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked NMIMS 57th among Indian Universities in 2020 and 92nd overall. It ranked NMIMS 13th in the pharmacy ranking and 24th in the management ranking.

NMIMS School of Business Management was ranked ninth in India by Business Today’s “India’s best B-schools 2019”. NMIMS was also ranked fourth among private management schools in India by Outlook India in 2020 and first in India by India Today’s “Top 120 colleges – BBA” in 2019.

Accommodation

NMIMS hostel facilities includes two full-fledged hostels and four rented residential accommodations in Mumbai, separately for boys and girls. The students admitted (on first come first serve basis; preference is given to students from outside of Mumbai) to the hostel are entitled to stay in the hostel during the academic session only and are required to vacate the rooms during the summer vacations for maintenance work. Students are provided with all necessary facilities in the hostel along with some value-added services. University has also arranged for rented residential accommodation. Hostel application forms are available on the official university website. Hostel fee may change each year. Students are required to submit the hostel fee along with all necessary documents. Exact location of the accommodation is provided on our website three days before the start of classes.

The hostels contain every required facility from Gymnasiums to Table Tennis and facilities for other sports. The Boys hostel has ample space to play outdoor sports and is mostly frequented during the evenings.

For students of SPTM and MPSTME Shirpur campus, hostel facilities with all modern amenities, good nutritious food, and purified drinking water facilities are available for boys and girls.
