Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar was founded in 1987 as Regional Engineering College, Jalandhar and acquired the status of a deemed university in 2002. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has declared the Institute as “Institute of National Importance” under the Act of Parliament-2007. It is one of the 20 youngest National Institutes of Technology in the country. The college features a sprawling 154-acre campus hosting state-of-the-art infrastructure. The institute takes in 50 percent students from the state of Punjab and the rest from other states. The institute has been consistently ranked among top fifty non-IIT engineering colleges in India by leading education surveys conducted annually. The institute’s Centre of Training and Placement makes arrangements for campus interviews for the final year B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc. students. A host of reputed firms visit the institution for recruitment drives every year, including Ashok Leyland, CapGemini, DRDO, IBM, ITC Ltd, BPCL, Hero Honda Motors and Hewlett Packard, among others.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Jalandhar features a sprawling campus of 154 acres amidst a verdant backdrop. Campus facilities include guest house, a community center, a dispensary, shopping center, banks, post office, sports complex, playgrounds, tennis court, basketball and volleyball courts, open air theatre, center seminar hall, and night canteen.
