NCU student selected for Google International Internship Programme

According to an official release on July 6, Pranav Jain, a third year BTech (CSE) student of The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurgaon has been selected for The Google Summer of Code (GSoC), an International Internship Programme organised by Google, where a student participates as an independent developer with an open source organisation on a 3 month programming project during summer. He has won a stipend of USD 6000 for his project which works on making android libraries and adding new functionality to K9 mail so that they can communicate over Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
Pranav said, “I have worked very hard for the past couple of years and words cannot describe enough how I feel after my latest achievement. I would like to thank The NorthCap University for giving me this opportunity, constant support and guidance. I am grateful to all the faculty members for investing their time and energy in me to bring out the best. I am also thankful to my grandparents and my parents for always believing in the work I do”

Congratulating the genius on his success, the pro vice-chancellor of The NorthCap University, Brigadier SK Sharma (Retd) said, “Pranav has been a bright student and we congratulate him on his multiple successes. The NorthCap University encourages its students to think out of the box and showcase their talent through innovation and creativity. Pranav, who is currently working with Debian, has previously been a winner of Google Code for India Hackathon and was felicitated by PM Modi for the same. He had also been selected throughout India for Social Innovation Hackathon at President’s Estate by the President of India along with winning the national Times App Search Contest, Scholarship for Udacity Nanodegree by Google and Tata Trusts and Deloitte Collegiate Cyber Threat Competition.
