All nine visually impaired students from a school for the blind in Odisha’s Ganjan district have successfully passed the annual High School Certificate (Class 10) examination.
Principal Priya Ranjan Mahakuda of the Red Cross School for the Blind in Ambapua announced that among the nine students, five are girls. The examination was conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.
One girl student achieved a B2 grade with 360 out of 600 marks, while seven students attained a C grade, and one passed with a D grade.
The results of the Class 10 examination were declared by the BSE on Sunday. Despite being taught with Braille textbooks in the classroom, the students took the exam with the assistance of a helper-writer.
Bharati Bisoyi, one of the visually impaired students who secured a B2 grade, along with others who passed, aspire to pursue higher education.
