Online Parenting Summit, parent success story: Thejeswini.S

Online parenting Summit (OPS) 2021 elaborates on various methods of parenting, a celebration of parenthood. The summit helps to reboot parenting and develop a friendly relationship between parents and their children. The concept of OPS is to create an impact on parents and their parenting styles. OPS aims to touch the universe and beyond, impact every generation that may come further. Until now, people practiced parenting in their own traditional ways but OPS tries to bring in modern ways in which one can make parenting experience much more fun yet unique.

Here is the story of Thejeswini.S, who talks about her journey as a parent.

My name is Thejeswini.S and I am a mom to Aaroh N Bagalkot, a nine-year-old boy. My parenting journey has been sweet and simple. I live in Bangalore with my husband and my son. Being a working mother, I need to manage my house, work and my child by giving my 100% everywhere. During the pandemic, it was quite difficult to manage everything going around yet we went into rhapsodies over the great family time we had together, a bond that we shared and built. It was a long way to understand that as a parent we need to cultivate the calmness & patience as a thumb rule before asking the little one to inculcate the same. We were successful in helping our child to adjust to the new normal with a planned structure and consistency. We were engrossed in the child sort of activities to forge a closer bond with each other.

My heart is filled with joy when I am being called ‘Mumma/Mummy’ an umpteen times. These are such magical words and to me, it’s something best heard every day, hour and minute. I trust my kids and I feel comparing them with other children will gradually affect their self-esteem and at a later stage would shatter them in pieces from within. I want them to live a free life, without any pressure of being someone.

My kids have always made me proud. I remember a moment when my child outstandingly performed in his academy pushing aside all the chaos and pandemic blues around. My relationship with my kid is reaching the mountains. I have given the credit to the pandemic as we spent most of the time together and we evolved.

I was not a part of the 2020 Summit but would love to be a part of the 2021 summit. A parenting journey can never be perfect; there are always some loopholes that you need to fill in. This online parenting Summit will help me clear my parenting doubts, teach me some modern ways of parenting that are different from the others. My parenting journey is magical, but I’m still looking for that extra silver lining in it.
