Founded in 1988, People’s Education Society Institute of Technology or PES Institute of Technology (PESIT) is a private co-educational engineering college located in Bangalore, Karnataka. PESIT is managed by the People’s Education Society which was founded in 1972 in a rented gymnasium in Bangalore with around 40 students, and currently manages 45 educational programmes in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh with a total of over 15,000 students. It is affiliated with Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum and was granted academic autonomy in August, 2007. PESIT is accredited by AICTE and National Board of Accreditation. PESIT was ranked No.35 in Outlook India’s Top Engineering Colleges of 2012 survey and No.30 by Dataquest (DQ) India’s Top Engineering Colleges of 2011 survey. The institute boasts 100 percent placement in all departments.
For undergraduate courses PESIT admits students based on CET or COMED-K UGET test ranks. The college also admits students under management quota which does not place any merit requirements. Admissions to postgraduate courses are based on GATE test scores as well as on postgraduate Karnataka CET scores. Fees For students admitted through KCET, the annual tuition fee amounts to Rs. 33,000. For COMEDK students, the annual tuition fee is Rs.1.25 lakh. Residential students are required to pay Rs. 63,000 (including food) per year as hostel charge.
