Private school associations have complained to the department of public instruction in Karnataka over technical glitches on the state’s enrollment platform that are resulting in delay of admissions, issue of transfer certificate among other issues.
In a letter addressed to the commissioner of the department Trilokchandra, the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka said that in recent days, technical problems related to OTP-based access in the SATS (Student Achievement Tracking System) portal have significantly affected the routine administrative processes of schools.
“Functions such as student transfer certificate (TC) issuance, attendance entry, new admissions, and submission of various records have been made dependent on OTP-based systems. However, the OTPs are being delivered with considerable delay, or in some cases, are not being received at all, causing repeated interruptions in administrative activities,” they said in a letter.
Private schools also complained that owing to these issues, misunderstandings are rampant between school management and parents. Delays in attendance entries are also making it difficult to maintain accurate and timely records.
Schools have asked the department to release an official statement to inform parents and the general public about these ongoing technical issues and have the issue addressed immediately.
