As heavy rains battered Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma convened a meeting with senior officials to assess the situation, ordering the closure of all schools in four severely affected districts on Monday.
During the meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office on Sunday, Sharma urged officials to accelerate relief efforts in the impacted regions and take precautionary measures in line with the weather department’s forecast for the coming days.
With a warning of more heavy rainfall in parts of the state, the district collectors of Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Bharatpur, and Dausa have ordered the closure of all government and private schools on Monday.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for joint teams from relevant departments to speed up relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.
He directed officials to visit waterlogged areas, ensuring proper water drainage and the provision of basic necessities like drinking water, food, and medicines. He also stressed the importance of promptly restoring water and electricity supplies.
Additionally, Sharma instructed the state police to stay alert and called on civic bodies to work diligently to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases while issuing public awareness advisories.
