Overview

Rockwell International School, Hyderabad is a co-educational, English medium, day school founded in 2009 by the chief managing director Subhash Boda, and the directors Srikanth Ramaraju and Murali Bhukkapatnam.

The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi for the national curriculum and with the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate (IB) and UK-based University of Cambridge Assessments International Examinations (CAIE) for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGSCE) curriculum.

The school maintains a student teacher ratio of 1:15 and aims to “develop a curriculum that focuses on self learning and practical approach to learning concepts”.

Campus

The school is sited on a 28,000 sq.ft. campus in Jubilee Hills, in the heart of the city. The school campus is located just a couple of kilometers from the famous Cyber City and hosts state-of-the-art infrastructure including 20 classrooms equipped with latest ICT technologies, well equipped labs for science, language and computer studies, a digitally enabled well stocked library, an audio visual room, art and craft hall, rooms for music, dance and drama, yoga centre, indoor and outdoor play area, adventure zone and green area for gardening.

The entire campus is Wifi enabled and hosts world class sports facilities spread across 3 acres including basket ball, cricket and tennis grounds. The school also plans to offer golf as part of the sports curriculum.

Academics

The academic year of the school commences in June and ends in May. Affiliated with CBSE and CIE, the school offers education from pre-primary to class XII. It follows an integrated IGCSE primary years programme and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum for pre-primary and middle school. The secondary and senior secondary students can opt between the IGCSE and CBSE curriculum.

The pedagogy is a blend of problem-based learning, multiple intelligence, teaching by task, individual progression, and problem solving. A teacher-student ratio of 1:10 is maintained at the preprimary level and 1:15 at the primary and secondary level.

15-20 days of the school calendar year are ear marked for teacher training programmes.

Admission

Application forms are available in the school office. The duly filled application forms along with necessary documents need to be submitted within the stipulated deadline. Selected candidates and their parents are called for an informal meeting with the class teacher and principal. The admission process closes by March 15 every year.

Fees:

The fees include a non-refundable admission fee of Rs. 45,000, a refundable caution amount of Rs. 5000 and tuition fee of Rs. 54,000 (pre-primary) to Rs. 75,000 (secondary and senior secondary ).

Achievement

Every year the students of Rockwell International School clear the NSO (National Science Olympiad) exams with top ranks and they have bagged several laurels in inter-school and national level sports and literary events.
