Ryan hosts mega literary extravaganza

As a stepping stone towards excellence in education, The Ryan International Group of Institutions hosted the prestigious World Scholars Cup – India Round, on December 17 and 18, at their Sohana Road campus. The theme was “A World in Flux”.

The World Scholar’s Cup is a global co-curricular enrichment activity for school students which endeavors to enhance the general knowledge quotient of the participants, as they compete with each other on the topics of literature, science and bio-technology,  art, music and history.

It was a mega event which witnessed over 500 students from over 40 schools across India display their talents and skills in debating, persuasive writing, scholars challenge and scholars bowl. The event was an effort at holistic development of a child by inculcating in them skills of reasoning, strategizing, team spirit, confidence in public speaking and much more.

The students were felicitated for their excellence in performance as overall champions in the junior and senior category and as best teams for persuasive writing, scholars challenge, team debate and scholar’s bowl. Individual efforts were appreciated where in 6 students, out of the entire group, were felicitated for “best overall performance by a student”.

The ceremony was graced by Anju Banerjee, chairperson and managing director, EdCIL (India) Limited and Sara Deverall, country exam director, British Council, India.

The event was organized under the able guidance of Madam Grace Pinto, managing director, Ryan International Group of Institutions, who said on the occasion, “this event will provide to the children, ample opportunities to develop team work, research, public speaking, time management and collaboration skills, in a cross cultural environment, thereby making the experience unforgettable.” She added that The Ryan International Group of Institutions takes pride in hosting an event of this stature, and feels extremely privileged and gratified towards all the special guests, students and parents, for joining this endeavor and making it a grand success.
