Sagar Public School hosts 8th All India Curo Quiz

On August 4, Bhopal based Sagar Public School hosted the 8th All India Curo Quiz 2018 at its campus at Saket Nagar. The signature event of the school, which began with great zeal and enthusiasm, witnessed participation from 30 teams comprising over 150 students of classes VIII-X from across India.
The competition commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest Sudhir Kumar Agrawal, chairman, Sagar Group, along with renowned quiz master Ajay Poonia in presence of Pankaj Sharma, principal, Sagar Public School, participants with their teachers as mentors, media and supporters of teams. All teams appeared for an online screening test on the theme – ‘Head, Heart and Hands for Humanity-Asia 2018’ of which top six teams qualified for the final quizzing round.

The final round was conducted by Poonia in rounds of direct questions, audio video and buzzer rounds – team friend and unfriend. Carmel Convent Sr. Sec School – Ratanpur, Bhopal, Delhi Public School – Indore, Jawaharlal Nehru School – Bhopal, Modern School – Barakhamba, Road, New Delhi, Sagar Public School – Saket Nagar, Bhopal and Choithram School – Indore were amongst the top 6 who made it to the final round. A close and nail biting tough scoring battle in each round amongst the teams got the audiences enthralled and engrossed.  Basis scores, Modern School – Barakhamba Road, New Delhi emerged as the leaders and were adjudged as winners of Eighth All India Curo Quiz 2018. Choitram School Team was declared as the first Runners up followed by Jawaharlal Nehru School as the second Runner up of the Eighth All India Curo Quiz 2018. The winning teams were awarded by Poonia, Siddharth Sudhir Agrawal, managing director, Sagar Group, K.K. Dubey, director, HR, Sagar Group and the principal of the school with trophies, certificates, Samsung Tables and Fit Bits, Kindle with Sony Headphones to winning teams. All participating schools were also felicitated with participation certificates.

Speaking on the occasion, Poonia said, “It’s my first visit to Bhopal as quiz master and I am overwhelmed with enthusiastic response of schools. I am impressed the quality and quantity of students who are enthusiastic. A tough fight till the last round made All India Curo Quiz 2018 exciting. I congratulate Sagar Public School for their great efforts and exposure to students.”

The competition concluded with vote of thanks to the quiz master, SISTec, technology partner of the event and participants.
