Nestled across a sprawling 12.5-acre lush green state-of-the-art campus in India’s cleanest city, Queens’ College, Indore (QCI) was founded in 1995 by renowned businessman-philanthropist Ramesh Mulchandani. His vision was clear and empowering — “to nurture young students into self-reliant individuals who excel in their fields and evolve into graceful, contributing members of society”.

Dedicated to delivering education that goes “beyond traditional schooling,” the institution took a progressive step in 2019 by welcoming boy students and since then has admitted them up to class VI. This was driven by demographic trends and responding to the evolving expectations of families for inclusive progressive education. By 2031, QCI aspires to be a fully co-educational K-12 institution.

As it currently celebrates its pearl jubilee, Queens’ College has built a formidable reputation for delivering values-driven, holistic education to its 2,360 students, where the girls:boys ratio  stands at 55:45. mentored by a committed team of 134 educators. In the latest EW India School Rankings 2024-25, QCI is ranked #4 in Madhya Pradesh and #2 in Indore among girls’ day schools countrywide.

A commerce postgraduate from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore with over 30 years in business and entrepreneurship, Ramesh Mulchandani is the driving force behind Queens’ College, Indore. Established in 1995, the school was born out of his belief that education should nurture the Mind, Body, and Spirit to prepare children not just for exams, but for life.

Over the years, Mr. Mulchandani has remained closely involved in shaping the school’s values and direction. His focus has been on building an environment where academic learning goes hand in hand with character, health, and creativity. Today, Queens’ College stands as a reflection of that vision—inclusive, forward-thinking, and rooted in strong values.

Beyond education, he supports community and environmental initiatives, and is known for his quiet philanthropy.

 

Smita Rathore

Smita Rathore
Academic Director
Smita Rathore is a passionate and visionary educationist with over 30 years of experience in the field of progressive education. A postgraduate in chemistry from Rajasthan University, she has served as the Principal of reputed schools for 22 years, and for the past three years, she has been leading Queens’ College as its Academic Director.

Her educational philosophy centres on participatory and experiential learning, with a strong belief in nurturing leadership skills in both students and educators by creating opportunities for exploration and growth.

Smita is deeply interested in behavioural science and has attended several national-level Behavioural Science programs conducted by the Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science (ISABS). She has also facilitated numerous workshops for teachers and parents on educational philosophy, child psychology, personality development, and progressive teaching practices.

 

Geetha Somasekharan

Geetha Somasekharan
Principal
An education and science postgraduate from Barkattullah, Calicut and Mysuru universities, Geetha Somasekharan has acquired almost three decades of teaching and admin experience having worked in the Middle East for seven years before signing up with Queens College, Indore as a biology teacher who was appointed Vice Principal in 2006 and took charge as Principal of Queens College in 2022.

Somasekharan is not only a strong advocate for academic achievement but also a firm believer in nurturing life skills and creativity. Her educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that academic excellence alone does not define a child.
