On National Science Day, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, a leading multidisciplinary research institution, unveiled a one-year Post-Baccalaureate/Postgraduate Certificate Program in Life Sciences Research. This pioneering initiative aims to bridge the gap in undergraduate education by offering immersive, hands-on research training.
The inaugural cohort will admit up to 20 students, with applications opening in mid-March 2025. Eligibility: Graduates with BSc, BTech, or equivalent degrees (minimum 60% or CGPA 6/10) seeking careers in scientific research.
Aligned with the National Science Day theme – ‘Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat’ – the program is designed to equip students with advanced laboratory skills for careers in academia, industry, and beyond. Led by 20 distinguished faculty members, the program will provide interdisciplinary mentorship across key life sciences domains.
Key Features of the Program:
🔹 Hands-on training in molecular biology, microscopy, cell culture, and model organisms (fruit flies, hydra, planaria, zebrafish).
🔹 Seven core research areas, including Age & Metabolism, Disease Pathogenesis & Therapeutics, Neuroscience, Brain & Cognition, and Agricultural Biotechnology & Sustainability.
🔹 Mentorship from leading scientists with opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research projects.
🔹 Merit-based scholarships of INR 1 Lakh for the top 4 selected students.
