Somerville School at Vasundhara Enclave in New Delhi is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The school offers education from Nursery to class XII. Founded in 1974 by the Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India, Somerville School is an unaided Christian Minority School and is open to children of all communities.
The school campus hosts a huge playground along with a football field, a volley ball court, a basketball court and an indoor facility for table tennis. The school also offers a well stocked library, well equipped labs for science, math and computers, a medical infirmary and large multipurpose hall.
The school follows the CBSE curriculum and the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation from class I to X. The academic year is divided into two terms and the progress of the students is assessed throughout the year through Formative Assessments (pen and paper tests, oral and group activities etc.) and at the end of each term through Summative Assessments. Students are graded on a nine-point scale and a minimum of grade D is required to be declared ‘Pass’ in each subject.
Extracurricular: The school hosts various competitions at inter class, inter house and inter school levels, besides regular seminars, exhibitions, workshops, community work, excursions and picnics. The school also offers various clubs for reading, cooking, embroidery, Taekwondo, Sudoku and contemporary dance among many others.
