Overview

Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology (SIST), Hyderabad is a co-educational autonomous institute affiliated with the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. It was established in 1997 by the Sree Education Society, a non-profit society registered under Societies Act. SIST offers seven undergraduate and three postgraduate courses of study through ten departments – Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Science and Humanities, Masters in Engineering, Computer Applications, Business Administration, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering. The institute is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research as a scientific industrial research organization. All of its courses are approved by the New Delhi-based All India Council for Technical Education. It has Memoranda of Understanding with several foreign universities such as Ohio State University, USA, University of Abertay Dundee, UK, University of Western Sydney, Australia that student-faculty exchange and provides ample of global exposure. The training and placement cell of the institute conducts various pevents like lectures by industry experts, internships, seminars as well as placement of its students in the best organizations. Some of the recruiters include Asian Motor Works, Schwingstetters, Riktam Tech, Kennmettals, UTC Fire and Security, Tata Advanced Systems, MPhasis, International Business Machine, Apps Associates Pvt .Ltd, Cognizant Technologies, Convergys, and Dell International Services to name a few.

Campus

SIST, located at Yamnapet of Ghatkesar Mandal in Rangareddy district of Andhra Pradesh, spreads across 33 acres hosting facilities such as laboratories, libraries, and a computer centre with 42 systems working on LAN. Facilities are available for students for indoor games, reading rooms, a hygienic canteen, and grounds for outdoor games. The college has established a library in the city centre too, which has a computer lab, internet facility, a number of books and subscription to various journals. The central library, which has 17 departmental libraries, has 85,000 thousands books on engineering, science and humanities, digitized and easily accessible system facilitated by intranet or internet., subscription to a number of print and e-journals, e-books, audios and videos. In order to enable the faculty and students to commute easily to and from the college the institute has made necessary transport arrangements. It provides six buses and 10 cars for the faculty. Arrangements are also made for transport of the students by involving APSRTC. Fourteen RTC buses are run exclusively for transport of students.

Extra-curricular Activities SIST promotes various student-run interest specific clubs such as the Robotics Club, Quiz club, Arts Club, social service clubs like Bachpan Bachao, Sports club as well as several fests such as Innovation organized by its entrepreneurship cell, Sudan by the Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, Naach and SAREGAMA by the Arts Club to name a few which serve as a platform for students to showcase their talents and exchange ideas.

General Information

Admission

Admission to SIST is based on entrance tests – the Common Entrance Test conducted by the state of Andhra Pradesh (85 percent seats reserved for CET qualifiers) and the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIIEE, 15 percent seats are reserved for candidates qualifying AIEEE). Students qualifying the higher secondary school examination of Andhra Pradesh or its equivalent with 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry, English, Mathematics are eligible to take these tests (for SC/ST/OBC students it’s 45 percent). Admission to MCA is through the Common Entrance Test conducted by Andhra Pradesh and the All India MCA CET. Common Aptitude Test and Management Aptitude Test scores are considered for admission into its MBA programme. For further details, please contact the college office. Accommodation

Off-campus (about 4.5 kms away) hostel facility is available for200 boys and girls, well-equipped with all the basic comforts such as mess, resident tutors, facilities for studying , reading rooms with subscription to newspapers, magazines, periodicals, television room as well internet facilities.
