Established in 1980, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar is one of the oldest day schools in Indore. It is managed by the Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Madhya Pradesh, and strives to follow the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The focus of the school is on imparting contemporary rooted in spiritual and human values.
Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar is an English medium day school for girls, and is affiliated to the CBSE. The teacher-student ratio is 1:34. It offers education from nursery to class XII. The school has recently been awarded with the Swami Vivekananda School of Excellence Award.
The school building is designed by well-known architect Sri Surya Kant Patel. The main building has three separate blocks which house the junior, middle and senior classes. There is an open courtyard in the middle of each block, and open-to-sky spaces between rooms.
The campus boasts gardens with colorful flowers and manicured lawns. Physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, computer, maths and language laboratories, and Smart classes are provided. The school also hosts a library, AV room, canteen, multimedia centre, junior science lab and offers transport.
A unique feature followed is the concept of class library wherein a set of 50 books are kept in an open shelf in the classroom for students.
There are basket ball and tennis courts, football ground and an indoor stadium-cum-auditorium for indoor games like badminton and table tennis.
A children’s park with slides, see-saws, swings and other playthings provides recreational facilities to young children.
The school offers education from nursery to class XII. The Montessori method is followed in the nursery/ pre-primary classes. The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and follows CBSE’s Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system.
The school combines spiritual education with secular education. The focus is on academic excellence, practical learning and character building.
In Plus Two (classes XI and XII) students can choose between science and commerce streams.
Extracurricular education
Co-curricular activities include music, dance, art and craft, drawing and drama. Sports facilities for football, tennis, basketball, badminton and table tennis are provided.
Each school day, children have an activity period and can choose from activities ranging from performing arts, literary skills, creative skills, to aesthetic skills or work education. Students can also be a part of the school band or school orchestra.

For admission to junior Montessori, the age of the child should be 3 years 3 months as on 31st March of the year of admission. Application forms are available in the school office in the month of November.
The completed form must be submitted within 15 days from the date of issue. Admission is on the basis of an interactive session. After the process, a merit list is displayed and admission is given only to those children whose parents attend the orientation programme to be held within one week of releasing the merit list.
