Sited on a sprawling 240-acre campus in Kattankulathur, Chennai, the Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University (SRMU) is among the country’s largest privately-promoted universities. The university offers contemporary education in engineering, medicine and health sciences, business management, science, humanities and numerous study and research opportunities for students in India and abroad. The private university is affiliated to Anna University, approved by theUniversity Grants Commissionand is accredited by theNational Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).It has been given an overall grade of B+ by NAAC Each academic year is divided into two semesters. Each semester has three internal exams and one final exam (semester exam) for all theory subjects. For laboratory courses there is usually one internal exam followed by the final exam. A distinguishing feature of SRM University is the wide choice of study programs and Ph D options offered by the varsity’s six faculties — 38 undergraduate and 45 postgraduate.
