St. George’s School, New Delhi is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school was founded in 1962 by Late Rev. Fr. V.C. George, a Christian Missionary priest belonging to the Indian Orthodox Church. St. George’s School came under the management of Muthoot Group in 1982. There is also a smaller branch of the school in Defence Colony. The school has over 2700 students on its rolls and more than 130 teachers.
The school’s motto is “Mata, Pitha, Guru, Daivam” – “Mathru Devo Bhava, Pithru Devo Bhava, Guru Devo Bhava”.
St. George’s School hosts two full-fledged libraries, five computer laboratories featuring over 200 computer systems. The school also houses an activity-centered, computerized math lab. St. George’s has well-equipped labs for physics, chemistry and biology, there are two laboratories for each of the science subjects, one for classes IX and X, and the other for classes XI and XII. The aim of having separate labs is to provide ample time and adequate equipment for every student to perform the experiments as per the CBSE guidelines.
Classrooms are equipped with latest teaching aids such as electronic smart board, tablet computers and mobile aids are regularly used for the teaching-learning process; there are separate rooms for teaching classical music and western music, the school also has a state-of-the-art staff training center and a well-equipped medical room with a full time qualified nurse and an experienced doctor. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Students also have access to an RO (Reverse Osmosis) drinking water system, which has several water points on each floor.
Sports facilities include a cricket ground with two turf wickets of international standard. St George’s School is the only school in Delhi to have the entire sports complex illuminated with floodlights. There is also a special playground designed for students of the pre-primary section. Besides there are facilities for outdoor games such as hockey, football, badminton and kho-kho and for indoor games such as table tennis, chess and carom.
St George’s School follows the student-centered Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system set by the CBSE. The CCE system encourages individual-based learning with the help of modern teaching aids and methodologies, refraining from any negative attitude towards the child’s performance. Promotion is granted on the basis of the whole year’s performance of a pupil. Hence, the regularity of the attendance and the class work are important.
Extracurricular: From pre-school to senior classes, there is a wide range of interesting co-curricular activities offered during the academic year; these include sports, art, music, dance, drama, quiz, storytelling and nature walks. Yoga is taught to the students with an aim to develop a higher level of concentration and flexibility. Hikes, camps, field trips and study tours are organized regularly.
The school has implemented innovative sports programs such as Leap Start, speech and drama classes (like the Helen O’Grady program), as well as various educational initiatives (such as the math program, mind spark and the scientifically designed scholastic testing programs, ASSET and Detailed Assessment).

Fees
The annual school fee for Nursery is INR 47,000, inclusive of admission fee, security deposit, tuition fee (monthly) development charges (monthly), transport fee (monthly) and annual charges.
St. George’s School has consistently been a national winner in the Green School Awards presented by the Centre for Science and Environment across categories since 2008. Latest in this regard is the 4th position pan-India in the ‘Change Makers’ category and the 2nd position in the Delhi state category for the year 2010-11.
