St Joseph’s Degree and PG College, Hyderabad was established in 1997 with 130 students. The college was awarded permanent affiliation with Osmania University in 2007 and A Grade accreditation in 2008 from NAAC and autonomous status in 2011 from UGC.
St Joseph’s College is a co-educational Catholic Christian minority institution run by the Hyderabad Archdiocese Educational Society. It offers six programs at the undergraduate and three programs at the postgraduate levels.
The mission of the college is to create and maintain an environment of excellence in education through technological advancement and effective pedagogy.
The college premises extend over 1.5 acres of land with built-up area of 1.25 lakh square feet. The campus has well equipped 140-seat seminar hall and an auditorium that can accommodate 350 members. The Joseph’s hall, with a seating capacity of about 450, is used to conduct student events, guest lectures, seminars and internal and external examinations. The college also has an air-conditioned conference hall that can seat 60 members.
The college canteen is spacious and well-furnished recreation hall that serves as a lunch and leisure room for the students. The classrooms are spacious, well ventilated and equipped with overhead projectors and LCD screen. The classrooms have a seating arrangement for 60 students. There are four spacious and well-furnished faculty rooms with separate rest rooms for men and women.
The college has separate libraries for MBA and MCA courses, with a vast collection of books, periodicals and journals and separate reading and reference sections. The main library and Information center for undergraduate students has a collection of 8,000 books, 10 national journals, 10 magazines and 10 newspapers. Many other resources like bound volumes (30), students’ project reports, CDs (250) and motivational videos are available.
Sports facilities in the campus include volleyball and basketball courts and indoor games like carom, chess and table tennis.

The college also offers a number of certificate courses and bridge courses conducted by the various departments.
Candidates seeking admission to the first year must have passed in the two-year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination conducted by any other Board/Institution recognized as equivalent by Osmania University.
Merit is the basis of admission to the college. Seventy per cent of the seats are filled through university common counseling with Christian minority students. The other 30% is filled under the management quota. For management seats, the students can approach the college in May-June for admissions.
