St. Martin’s High School, Ferozguda is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. The school was founded in 1982 by the St. Martin’s Children’s Education Society which boasts three other schools at Chintal, Malkajgiri and Miyapur.
The school’s mission is to yearn for higher standards of excellence in children and endeavor to develop application, analysis, communication and soft skills in them. The school also aims to inculcate commitment towards society and country in its students.
The campus facilities include a well stocked library, spacious classrooms, a language lab that has 40 computers installed with model interactive software that helps students to listen and practice correct English pronunciation, the math lab features a large collection of customised equipment for children to grasp mathematical concepts, two computer labs for junior and senior school, separate science labs for physics, chemistry and biology with essential equipment, apparatus, chemicals, specimens, models, charts and over head projector. The school also provides career counseling by experts for class X students. Psychologists address children and their parents on stress and time management.
Sports infrastructure includes facilities for games such as table tennis, volley ball, basket ball, badminton, lawn tennis, yoga, caroms, chess, athletics and aerobics.
The school also has a fleet of 11 buses for transportation needs of children.
At the kindergarten level, no formal tests are conducted throughout the academic year. Teacher’s observation and the child’s progress are communicated in a progress report at the end of each term, along with the samples of the child’s work.
From class I onwards the school follows the ICSE curriculum. The school lays emphasis on project work and topics are thoughtfully chosen for children to connect theory with what they learn in real life. Importance is given to handmade illustrations, originality in presentation, neatness in work, initiative in collecting information.
