Overview

St. Paul’s High School, Hyderabad is a coeducational day school that prepares students for the Secondary School Certificate (Class X) examination of the Telangana State Board. Established on June 1, 1955 the school is managed by the Brothers of St. Gabriel Education Society who manage over 70 institutions in India. The school is a Catholic minority institution and is recognized by the Government of Telangana.

Campus

St. Paul’s High School hosts well ventilated classrooms, labs for science and computers, facilities for table-tennis and basketball and two grounds for casual sports and games.

Academics

The school has four academic divisions – pre-primary, primary, middle and senior. The school’s academic year starts in mid-June and ends in early April and is divided into three quarters. Examinations are held at the end of every quarter and every month.

The school follows the SSC curriculum and the first language is Telugu, second language is Hindi and English is the third language; other subjects include mathematics, science and social studies.

At the end of class X, students write the state government administered Secondary School Certificate examination. At the end of class VII also, students are required to write a state government administered exam.

Admission

For Kindergarten admissions, the school follows joint admission policy with Little Flower High School, Hyderabad and All Saints High School, Hyderabad, which are run by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel.

One of the three schools conducts the admissions procedure for Kindergarten in January involving interviews of both the students and their parents. Students are allowed to state their choice among the three schools but their choice is not guaranteed. A twenty-percent quota is generally reserved for economically backward students.

Admission to other classes is conducted by the school itself on merit basis.

Achievement

St Paul’s High School, Hyderabad won the State Award in the Fifth Computer Literacy Excellence Awards for Schools 2007 instituted by the Government of India, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Department of Information Technology.
