Stanford GSB hosts panel discussion on ‘Entrepreneurship’ in Bangalore”

Stanford, California based Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) –  a top global business school – brought together the best entrepreneurial minds for a panel discussion, moderated by Stanford’s renowned Professor Haim Mendelson, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers professor of Electronic Business and Commerce, and Management on February 8 at The Hive, Bangalore.
The discussion was centred around ‘Ins and outs of developing business models and entrepreneurial ventures in Bangalore and in India overall’. The panel featured an interesting line-up of panelists from Bangalore Stanford GSB Entrepreneur alumni network including, Kishore Acharya, Ignite – Bangalore ’15, co-founder and director, sCoolMeal Food Ventures Pvt Ltd; Lokesh Bevara, Stanford Ignite – Bangalore ’13, co-founder and CEO, SendThruMe; Chaitra Chidanand, Stanford MBA ’07 co-founder and President, Simpl; Rajoshi Ghosh, Stanford Ignite – Bangalore ’14, CEO and Founder, Hasura; Madhu Konety, Sloan ’06 founder and CEO, IceCream Labs Inc.

“The startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship is most conducive in India today, yet, we see entrepreneurs facing their own hurdles and challenges to succeed. What are the business models these companies are following? How do they compare it to Silicon Valley models? These are some of the questions that will be discussed and deliberated at the panel,” said Prof. Mendelson.

Among other programmes, Stanford GSB offers – Stanford Ignite, a certificate programme that teaches innovators to formulate, develop, and commercialise their ideas. In Bangalore, India, Stanford Ignite is offered as a part-time programme. The nine-week course is currently underway in Bangalore, running from January through March each year.

Stanford Ignite-Bangalore is offered as a nine-week, part-time certificate programme that teaches innovators to formulate, develop, and commercialise their ideas. In this programme, entrepreneurs and intrepreneurs are exposed to both the fundamentals of business, and the practical aspects of identifying and evaluating business ideas and moving them forward. Through a combination of in-person instruction and live sessions delivered by distance-learning technology, we offer curriculum based on the Stanford campus programme that is adapted for the Indian market. All instruction is conducted in English.
