Stonehill International School hosts career & college counselling forum

Stonehill International School, Bangalore, recently hosted the IC3 (International Career and College Counselling) Regional Forum, which brought together schools and universities, to exchange ideas and perspectives on various career-related options for students. The IC3 Regional Forums are a series of one-day events, held in high schools across India, organized by the IC3 Conference Committees. It is currently being conducted in 28 cities across India, with more than 1,650 high school delegates and more than 390 participating universities.

The IC3 provides a platform for schools to interact with national and international universities. Educators and counsellors learn about best career guidance practices and gain deeper insights into admission processes, allowing students to make an educated choice towards their university preparations.

The IC3 Regional Forum at Stonehill International School was attended by school principals, coordinators, counselors, teachers, educators and over 150 leading universities, such as University of Calgary, Krea University, The University of Sydney, University of Guelph, Ashoka University, University of Waterloo and University of Toronto, to name a few.

Keynote speaker, Dr.DishanKamdar, Vice Chancellor, Flame University, addressed the crowd. There were exclusive breakout sessions by Mr.GaneshKohli, IC3 Founder; Dr.Garuav Raina, Krea University; Mr. KunalMehra, Director, Marketing and Outreach – South and Central Asia, The College Board; Anjali Seth, International Recruitment Specialist, Huron University; Ms. Seetha Dronamraju, Recruitment Officer, University of Waterloo; Mr. ApratimMukhopadhyay, Recruitment Adviser, University of Toronto; Ms. Ramya Ashok, Adviser, Education USA, Bangalore and Ms. Andrea Mata, School Counselor, Trio World School. They addressed the crowd with sessions on career guidance for students with special needs, data-driven college counselling sessions, the use of technology in college counselling, opportunities for students on university campuses and basics of college counselling for beginners and much more.

The closing keynote speaker, Ms. JyotiThyagarajan, spoke about the importance of career guidance and emphasised the different ways to reach out to a wider audience.

The IC3 Regional Forum at Stonehill created an awareness about career guidance, college counselling and career readiness programmes for students. It enabled the participating schools to train and inform their principals, teachers, and counsellors, to efficiently guide students and their families in their college search.”
