Three government school students from Tamil Nadu, who allegedly brought a knife to the school to attack their teacher were apprehended by the police.
They were apprehended by the Nanguneri police in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu on Thursday, August 8. Sources said that the three students of class XII in a government higher secondary school took this step to express dissatisfaction over the marks awarded to them.
They had a dispute with their teacher over granting low marks in the recent examinations. Irked by this and to attack the teacher, one of the three students brought a knife to school on Wednesday. Having a hunch about this, the teacher alerted the Nanguneri police.
The police conducted an inquiry and later apprehended the trio and sent them to the government home after producing them before the Juvenile Justice Board according to sources.
In a similar incident, a Class IX student at a government school carried a gun to his class to intimidate his classmate, leaving teachers and students in a state of shock in Bihar’s East Champaran district, police said on Thursday, August 8.
The incident took place at Upgraded government high school at Balua Bazar under Harsiddhi police station.
The student in question reached out for the gun from his school bag soon after the morning prayers concluded, and students reached their respective classes for studies.
