Pre-primary

At the pre-primary level, the teaching-learning process is non-formal and wholly student-centred. Audio-visual aids, models, pictorial materials are used as tools to nurture and boost the imagination of the tiny tots. These methods not only develop the ability to listen but also helps children understand the concepts better. Kids are encouraged to come up with different ideas and are given the freedom to explore.

The school is also launching the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) from the UK for the pre-primary classes. The internationally acclaimed IEYC is a research-based early childhood curriculum that addresses the developmental needs of 2 to 5 year olds.

Grade I to II: The teaching-learning process at primary school is designed to infuse joy of learning and to foster innate curiosity in children through concrete hands-on learning experiences. At this level, a healthy balance is maintained between academics and activities, with the focus moving a bit more towards academics.

Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge. It helps create independent thinkers as children delve deeper into the projects initiated by the mentors but led by themselves.

Grades VIII-XII: At this stage, academics is a very important part of a child’s life. There are grade-wise focus areas, experts talks are regularly organised to help students get a real feel of the concepts. Field work, peer teaching and student-led projects are the distinguishing features of the teaching-learning process at this stage.

Good communication skills are promoted through the Reading Program, Speak to Lead Club and a well-stocked class and school library. Leadership skill, which is a part of the 21st century skills, is honed through different programmes such as community services, an active student council, yearly excursions and AFS intercultural Programs.

To help students make well-informed career choices, the school also offers a career counseling programme – UDAAN- right from Grade IX. Both parents and students participate in the program and the parents are updated about the activities during frequent interactions. It includes a Goal Setting session for each grade wherein parents are also involved.
