Overview

Founded in 1977, Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune is affiliated with the University of Pune. Symbiosis Law School stands for global leadership in legal education. Nestled in the city of Pune (popularly described as the Oxford of the East, with the glorious heritage of being the capital of the Peshwas), it has recently been conferred upon the honor of being a core partner in the global network of legal institutes of Erasmus Mundus.

Over the years, SLS Pune gained enhanced degree of autonomy in teaching, learning, and research and has been ranked among the top ten law colleges in the country. The institute was also selected by the Government of India, Ministry of Social Welfare for awarding scholarships to SC and ST students.

Campus

SLS, Pune provides best in class campus facilities, including spacious classrooms, well-stocked library, state-of-the-art auditorium, well-equipped computer lab, dining hall, gymnasium, squash court, badminton court, health clinic, cafeteria, campus playground, and swimming pool.

Academics

Symbiosis Law School, Pune offers the following academic programmes:

Undergraduate:

BA LLB and BA LLB – 5 years integrated programme

Postgraduate:

LLM programme: 5 specializations in the study of law

Diploma:

It offers 15 part time one year diploma programme available as value-addition.

Certificate programmes

9 certificate programmes which include the Certificate in European Legal Studies and Certificate in Securities Laws, among others.

Ph. D

PhD programmes are conducted under Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International University.

General Information

Admission

Admission to undergraduate programmes offered by SLS Pune is through Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) which is a common written test for the admission into undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis International University (SIU). The entrance test is followed by group exercise and personal interview making SLS the first law school to conduct admission through these steps.

Fees:

BA LLB: Rs. 1,46,000 per annum (including caution deposit of Rs.5000)

BBA LLB: Rs. 1,46,000 per annum (including caution deposit of Rs.5000)

Postgraduate/LLM: Rs. 60,000 per annum for Indian students

Rs. 90,000 per annum or equivalent in USD for international students

Diploma: Rs. 8000 for Indian students

Rs. 12000 for foreign students

Achievement

SLS has been ranked among the top ten law colleges in the country. The institute was also selected by the Government of India, Ministry of Social Welfare for awarding scholarships to SC and ST students.

Accommodation

Symbiosis International University, Pune campus provides separate hostel facility within the campus for boys and girls. All rooms have been designed to provide adequate moving space and ample air and light. Residential facilities are available for postgraduate students, with individual blocks for male and female students. The rooms provide double/triple occupancy with attached bathroom and basic amenities.
