The services of a teacher at the Kasturba Gandhi Residential School in Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, have been terminated following allegations of molesting girl students. Local authorities in the Education Department have also filed a police complaint against the accused teacher.
The accused, identified as Mujeeb Khan, an Urdu teacher at the school in the Tondarpur development block, has been accused of inappropriately touching and engaging in obscene conversations with girl students. The incident came to light when the students filed a complaint against the Urdu teacher during an inspection visit by Block Education Officer Shalini Gupta.
According to the complaint, the girls alleged that the teacher would ask them about the meaning of words like ‘Mohabbat’ (love) and ‘Piya’ (lover) in a suggestive manner. The girls stated that the teacher would belittle them for not understanding the meanings and make inappropriate comments. The complaint was brought to the attention of District Basic Education Officer Dr. Vinita, who presented it to District Magistrate MP Singh.
In response, the District Magistrate constituted a three-member inquiry committee, consisting of SDM Sandila Divya Mishra, CO Hariwan Shilpa Kumari, and Disabled Welfare Officer Richa Gupta, to investigate the matter. The inquiry committee confirmed the allegations against Urdu teacher Mujeeb Khan. Consequently, the District Magistrate instructed the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) to terminate the services of the accused teacher.
Additionally, the Block Education Officer of Tondarpur, Prabhas Kunwar Srivastava, has registered a molestation case against Mujeeb Khan at Behta Gokul police station based on the allegations made by the students.
