Founded in 2002, The New Cambridge English School, Bangalore is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. The school was founded by Madam G. Louisa Manohari, managing trustee of The New Cambridge Educational Trust and is a part of The New Cambridge Group of Schools. The prime focus of the school is to motivate every child to develop a positive outlook towards life and bring out the best of their hidden talents and creative skills. The school aims at providing a comprehensive balanced curriculum and students are tutored with value based principles in a healthy competitive environment. The school took off with 170 students from Montessori to class X. Today, it boasts over 1000 students and well qualified and dedicated teachers, in a span of just five years.
The New Cambridge English School, Bangalore hosts state-of-the-art architecture with well-lit spacious classrooms and comfortable furniture and an activity hall for various group activities. It also houses a well-stocked library and separate well set laboratories with modern equipment for subjects such as chemistry, physics, biology and computers.
The school academic year begins in June and ends in March and comprises two terms – June to December and November to March. Following the CISCE curriculum, the school offers classes from Montessori through class X. The subjects offered include English, mathematics, science, Hindi/ Kannada, social science, computers and environmental science. Project work is assessed from standard I to standard X.
Students are encouraged to participate in various events including inter school competitions, ISKCON Literary Events and All India General Knowledge Examination by HRD as part of their co-curricular activities. The school also conducts various exhibitions, picnics, study tours and fund raising events to help the unprivileged and the victims of natural calamities.
