Trio students celebrate Literacy Week with zest

The Literacy Week at Trio World Academy, Bangalore came to life on June 21 as the students ventured into the premise of literary brilliance with authors and story-tellers. As a part of Literacy Week, the school had invited authors and story-tellers of repute to engage students and educate them on the finer aspects of literature through exciting activities and sessions.
The guests over the week included Aditi De, a celebrated author who encouraged the students to tap into their imagination and build stories from the simplest of the images in their minds. The students also enjoyed the session by Roopa Rai, author of The Gita for a younger audience, who narrated her rendition of the Gita.

The youngest in the campus were captivated by the story-telling sessions presented by Neha Toshniwal and Hetal Shah. While the former engaged the students with wonderful English narrations, Shah was a star among the kids for her expressive and energetic Hindi story-telling.

The schedule for the week comprised celebration of literary marvels of different languages and cultures. The students also exhibited their knowledge of the French language and culture as a part of the Francophenie event – a tribute to the legacy of the Francophene countries.

The Literacy Week that also featured competitive spelling bee, creative writing, quizzes and more, came to a closure after having left the students better equipped to understand and appreciate literature. The winners of the events were awarded with scholastic book vouchers, which they can redeem at the on-going scholastic book fair set up at the school campus.

Comments Naveen KM, managing director – Trio World Academy said, “Ingraining the appreciation for literature in students at an early age will encourage them to cultivate a liking for literature that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. This is very important for the holistic development of every individual, which is why great importance is given to Literacy Week at Trio each year.”
