In a significant development aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education for the youth of Uttar Pradesh, the state government has granted approval for the establishment of six private universities. This decision was made during a recent cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday. The approved universities will be located in Mathura, Farrukhabad, Agra, Ghaziabad, and two in Meerut.
Yogendra Upadhyay, the Minister of Higher Education, expressed his enthusiasm for this decision, highlighting the positive impact it will have on students seeking superior educational opportunities. He emphasized that the establishment of these universities will ensure that students have access to top-notch education. Moreover, the Higher Education Minister announced that the state government will provide a range of incentives to support the growth of private universities in smaller towns. To facilitate this, a new policy will be introduced by the government in the near future.
During the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the formulation of a policy dedicated to private universities in smaller towns, underscoring the government’s commitment to making quality education accessible across the state.
