The VIBGYOR Group of Schools, one of India’s leading K-12 education networks, with 39 schools across 15 cities and over 50,000 students, successfully hosted the 15th edition of its flagship VIBGYOR Model United Nations (VIBGYOR MUN) from 25 to 28 June at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake. Centred around UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action, the Quindecennial Edition brought together 709 student delegates from 41 schools across India and overseas to engage in impactful dialogue, diplomacy, and leadership on pressing environmental challenges.
Inaugurated by renowned academician and public health expert Dr Vedprakash Mishra, the event encouraged students to become fearless climate advocates. Over four days, seven dynamic committees—including COP30, SPECPOL, UNICEF, the Security Council, and Lok Sabha—debated issues such as equitable climate finance, disaster risk reduction, and national versus global environmental priorities.
Kavita Kerawalla, vice-chairperson of VIBGYOR Group of Schools, noted, “The passion and clarity with which our students addressed climate action was both inspiring and humbling. They weren’t merely debating policies—they were standing up for their future.”
Highlights included the MUN Colosseum—a high-stakes debate among executive board members on welfare schemes and economic relief; fireside chats exploring global environmental governance; a midnight crisis simulation; and a socio-cultural evening celebrating collaboration and creativity.
The closing ceremony, led by founder chairman Mr Rustom Kerawalla and Ms Kavita Kerawalla, called on students to carry forward their learnings into meaningful climate action. With a focus on empathy, courage and cooperation, VIBGYOR MUN 2025 concluded not just with resolutions, but with a renewed spirit of youth-led change for a more sustainable planet.
