Vijaykiran Group to host a webinar on critical thinking in the classroom

Vijaykiran Group of Institution Learning Centre (VKGI-LC), an integrated service unit that supports teachers, teacher educators, educational administrators, pedagogical leaders and academic units in their teaching and learning responsibilities is hosting a webinar titled Making Thinking Visible – A session to enhance Critical Thinking in the Classroom on October 30, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm IST.

 

The session would be facilitated by Gowri Kurapati, a teacher trainer with more than 15 years of experience in the education field. An expert in developing early childhood care and education curriculum, Kurapti has trained teachers in using technology to their maximum potential and make online classes more interesting with creative activities. 

 

Session Description: Critical thinking is one of the key 21st-century skills but is it the role of the teacher to develop those skills through visible Thinking Routines in the classroom. These 21st-century critical skills include the ability to collaborate and communicate and analyse and address problems for students to thereby achieve holistic growth and development. While applying critical thinking strategies are easy for teachers, the art of being able to test the skill and reflect on the learning is what makes the thinking a routine, enabling students to develop the skill of critical thinking and application.
