Woxsen University, one of Telangana’s first private universities, located on a 200-acre state-of-the-art campus in Hyderabad, has entered into a strategic five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IBM India Private Limited, marking a significant academic-industry partnership aimed at transforming technology education across business and technology streams.
This collaboration will directly benefit students from Woxsen’s School of Business and School of Technology—particularly those enrolled in the MBA (Business Analytics) and BBA (Data Science & Artificial Intelligence) programs. It will also extend its impact across the wider technology student community at the university.
Key Features of the Collaboration:
-
Industry-Driven Curriculum: Integration of IBM’s enterprise-grade tools used by Fortune 500 companies into Woxsen’s academic framework.
-
Global Certifications: Students will have access to globally recognized IBM certifications in areas like AI, blockchain, and advanced analytics.
-
Hands-On Learning: Co-delivery of modules by IBM subject matter experts and Woxsen faculty, incorporating real-world business scenarios and professional platforms.
-
Career Opportunities: Enhanced access to internships, mentorships, and placements via IBM’s global industry network.
Dr. Raul Villamarin Rodriguez, vice president of Woxsen University, emphasized the transformative nature of the collaboration, stating: “Our partnership with IBM is not an add-on—it is a structural shift in how we envision higher education. By embedding enterprise-grade tools and certifications into the DNA of our curriculum, we’re placing Woxsen students on the same technological footing as professionals in Fortune 500 companies. This alliance breaks down the silos between business and tech education, preparing our graduates to lead with fluency, strategy, and agility.”
Dr. Hemachandran, vice dean of the School of Business, added: “The timing couldn’t be more perfect. As businesses undergo digital transformation, they need leaders who understand both strategic business principles and emerging technologies. This partnership produces exactly those leaders.”
Woxsen’s global credentials further reinforce the significance of this partnership. The university was recently ranked #9 globally for MBA programs leading to tech jobs by BusinessBecause in collaboration with the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC)—the only non-US/UK university to be featured alongside institutions like Harvard, Wharton, and MIT.
This initiative is a major step toward bridging the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that Woxsen graduates are job-ready and equipped with future-forward skills in the global digital economy.
