Your Counsellor RepliesI‚m doing Plus Two (science) and want to qualify as an architect. What are the eligibility requirements for admission into an architecture college?Rajesh Sule, PuneAdmission into an architecture degree programme is on the basis of aptitude testing. You should shortlist the colleges you prefer, identify the required entrance test and write it. For instance in Maharashtra you are required to write the architecture aptitude test (Maharashtra Association of Schools of Architectural Aptitude Test ‚ www.maharch.org) conducted by the directorate of technical education. At the all-India level, admission into the B.Arch programme of IIT-Roorkee and IIT-Kharagpur is through the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination and the architecture aptitude test conducted when you are short-listed for counselling. The All India Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE also has a separate test paper for B.Arch applicants (www.aieee.nic.in). Usually architecture aptitude tests assess aesthetic sensitivity, drawing skills and spatial intelligence. Moreover the Council of Architecture (www.coa. india.org) has mandated a National Aptitude Test for admission into B.Arch programmes offered by all unaided institutes and participating aided institutes. To register for the test log on to www.miasa.org or www.nata.in.I‚ve been working as an engineer for the past few years and want information on institutes which offer a one-year, full-time MBA.Aditya Rao, BangaloreThe Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (www.isb.edu) and Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai (www.glakes.org) are the two most prominent institutions in India offering the intensive one-year MBA programme to graduates with at least two years‚ work experience.
