42% Indian students embrace blended learning reveals: Edvoy survey

September 3, 2020

According to a survey released today by Edvoy, about 35 percent of the students desire to go to Canada for higher education in September 2020, and 33 percent of students voted for Ireland.

The education consultancy platform surveyed 4000 Indian students on four study destinations namely UK, US, Canada and Ireland.

Conversely, the survey also revealed that for the January 2021 intake, the United States has been voted as the most preferred study abroad destination by the students followed by Canada. The survey also highlighted 43 percent of the students have planned to go ahead with their education in the US and 35 percent to Canada.

The imposition of worldwide lockdown led to travel bans and quarantines, and closure of all educational institutes. As an outcome of the situation, several international universities showed a willingness to adopt a blended learning model. The survey showed that 42 percent of the students, aspiring to study in UK universities embrace the idea of blended learning, a mix of face-to-face and online learning.

Last month, the UK Home Office also announced that international students can start their course online and join on campus by April 2021 to be eligible for the graduate route eligibility. Several international universities are willing to adopt a “blended learning” approach until the situation improves.

Sadiq Basha, CEO & Founder of Edvoy said, “At Edvoy, we are trying to do what’s best for students seeking to study abroad. The survey conducted was primarily to understand how the coronavirus pandemic has altered the decision of students planning to study in international universities. We want to reiterate that we are with the student and the higher education community as it becomes demandingly necessary to help them in this time of crisis. We are taking measures to mentor and guide students to take the right decision for their future.”

The UK-based study abroad platform announced its launch in India last month. Edvoy is a free online platform, providing impartial advice, content and support to prospective international students with their university applications.
